Energy Performance Certificates - Search and Filter

These guides provide help with using DLUHC's Open EPC Data site. To browse all of DLUHC's linked open data, visit;opendatacommunities.org.

To work with EPC or DEC data you first need to sign in.

The default view after signing in is to show all Domestic certificates (i.e. with no filters applied). You can choose between domestic, non-domestic or display energy certificates (DECs) using the links in the toolbar, at the top right of the page.

If a partial address or postcode is known, enter this in the box at the top right of the page. In the example below, the postcode district "EC1" has been entered. You can press enter in the text boxes, or press "search" (at the bottom of the page) to apply your filters.

To search by local authority, constituency, property type, property total floor area, current energy rating or certificate lodgement date, there are drop down menus and tick boxes to choose from. This helps if you don’t have a particular address in mind (in which case leave the text boxes blank), or if you want to narrow the search further. The search results are automatically updated every time a filter is changed.

The results of your search will then be displayed in a list, in reverse chronological order. Each result is a single certificate. If more than one certificate is available for an address, the date also shown helps you disambiguate them.

At this point, it’s possible to view details of a certificate or download data for a single result or in bulk.
